Misery? Meet Company. I think you’re going to like her…

We are on our way to Minneapolis to spend some good time with some good people, crying and laughing and telling stories about my Dad.

It seems like a good time to be together.  The sad can sound a little louder, and feel a little deeper when you are around other people who are as sad as you are, but being together also seems to dull the edges and help spread the grief around and pull it away a little.  Kind of like climbing into a tub of water, and inviting in a few friends (fully dressed of course).  Each person who gets in pushes more water out.  When you finally get out, there is less grief to go around for everyone.

Maybe.  Maybe not.  Either way, there must be a reason Misery loves Company.  Company can’t be all bad if Misery loves her.  So we are going to see if we can’t fall in love with Company too.

  1. jennie says:

Company also loves food and arrives at the hotel bearing Bombay and boxed wine. See you Thursday.

  2. But Italy can only have any real influence on world affairs if it carries weight in Europe.
