There was a sink.

Last night I got my hair cut, and it was the first time in over a year, I think, that I went to a salon to get a haircut.

I have been stopping by the neighbor hood Super Fast No Appointment $8 haircut place all year, because I just don’t have time to go to the trouble to make appointments, or so I think.

Last night, I got my hair cut, because it was a charity benefit for my new pet charity, the local children’s museum.  I even ditched a Financial Executive dinner to go.

It was an Aveda salon.  I love an Aveda salon.  There was a sink.  And they washed my hair before they cut it.  But only after I got an Aveda oil scalp massage.

Sharon gave me a beautiful new style, and sold me a whole bunch of deliciously scented product to use on my new style.  All day, every time I flipped my luscious locks, I got a deep breath of heavenly scent and I was so happy.

And it just makes me wonder.  Why do I do this to myself?  Why do I believe I don’t deserve to get a haircut where they have a sink?

Lately, I have been hard pressed to spend a whole day at the office, between my new part time job (Andra’s teeth) and changes in our carpool schedule.  But I think we all deserve a haircut at a place with a sink.

I vow to go again.

I will rationalize by saying that it is important to go back to the fantastic salon – they pick one night a month and give all the GROSS proceeds to a local charity.  They should be rewarded.
